Hello District 6 Neighbor!
I'm excited about the opportunity to serve District 6 for the next 4 years. Nancy and I have been married 28 years. Together we have four children and eight grandchildren. We are both active at First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa.
I attended Tuscaloosa City Schools and The University of Alabama, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.
In 1972 I began my career at the Tuscaloosa Police Department. I worked various investigative areas for 12 years and ended my 25 year career in 1997 as a Captain.
In 1997 I began serving as the Director of the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Facility. Our company contracted with Tuscaloosa County to manage the facility. While there I worked closely with the Commission in various areas including the construction of the current building, retiring in 2017.
Over my life I have been involved in our community. I coached youth baseball for 10 years, served as President of the King-Hubbard Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was involved in the start of the Woodlands Homeowners Association serving one year as President. I am currently finishing my sixth year serving on the Board of Sav-a-Life Tuscaloosa, including 2 years as President of the Board.
I genuinely believe my lifetime of service can be of value to our community. I look forward to serving you on the City Council.
It is time for change in District 6!
